Professor Rana Atabay Kuşçu is the head of the Department of Economics and Finance at Istanbul Medipol University. Her research interests are international trade, regional integrations, sustainability and trade relations, and vocational training. With more than 20 years of experience, she has published works in her fields of study and participated in various seminars and conferences.

Gülsena Samsunlu

Project Assistant

Gülsena Samsunlu was born in Istanbul in 1991. She received her bachelor’s degree in International Trade from Istanbul Commerce University and her master’s degree in International Trade and Money Management from Marmara University with a thesis on “The Effects of Eximbank Credits on Türkiye’s Foreign Trade, Granger Causality Analysis”. Currently, she is continuing her thesis on “The Mediating Role of Competitive Strategies in the Effect of Corporate Sustainability Activities on Export Performance” in the Marketing Management PhD programme at Istanbul Commerce University and working as a research assistant at Istanbul Medipol University, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, Department of International Trade and Finance. Dilara Türk

Project Assistant
Dilara Türk is a student at the Department of Economics and Finance, at Istanbul Medipol University. She is concerned with Income inequality, Poverty, Gender Economics, Labor Sociology, Development Economics and Sustainability. She wants to improve herself and do academic studies in these areas. She did her internships at Türkiye Halk Bank, one of Türkiye’s well-established banks, and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Strategic Research Center. She worked as a coordinator and board member in independent student clubs and produced social responsibility projects. During her academic journey, she took part in training programs that will develop 21st-century competencies in order to become a learning and teaching person. She takes an active role in social responsibility projects for contribution and benefits to society, which is one of her principles.

Fatma Melike Aşcı

Project Assistant
Fatma Melike Aşcı is a student at Department of Economics and Finance, Istanbul Medipol University. She is interested in circular economy, sustainability, political law, international relations, poverty and demography, economic impacts of sustainable development, and growth policies. During her academic career, she has been a trainee, coordinator of a non-governmental organizations, and career ambassador of the university’s Career Center to make a difference for future generations. Also, she did an internship at one of the biggest public banks in the Republic of Turkey. Today, she is working on European Union, Green Deal, sustainable trade, climate change, and UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
